Complete or full dentures replace all of the teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. Complete dentures are made from prefabricated acrylic and sized to fit the shape of your jaw and mouth. They mimic the colour and appearance of your natural teeth, and function in the missing areas to allow you to chew. The unique impression of your teeth, your bite, and the shape of your jaw will be used to create the dentures. Over time your mouth will change, and you may find that as the jaw bones and gum shrink or recede, your dentures may not fit as well as they used to. You can have your dentures refitted or remade with us when necessary.
As the name suggests, immediate dentures allow the immediately insertion of the denture following tooth removal, without the need to leave the dental clinic with gaps or missing teeth. As we rely heavily on our teeth for everyday function, speech, and appearance, having an immediate denture made may be a preferrable option.

Partial dentures are removable devices that replace a few missing teeth, instead of all the teeth in the jaw line. They can be made in acrylic or chrome cobalt, both materials having their own advantages and disadvantages. Partial dentures are held in place in the mouth by metal clasps or precision attachments. Precision attachments require crowns to be put on the remaining anchor teeth holding the denture in place. Regardless, these supporting teeth must be in good health and a thorough examination by our dentists is required.
